The Department of Defense has identified 3,515 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans this week:

BECHERT, Michael A., 24, Staff Sgt., Army; New Castle, Ind.; First Infantry Division.

BRISKY, Dustin R., 26, Specialist, Army Reserve; Round Rock, Tex.; Third Infantry Division.

GRASS, Zachary A., 34, Specialist, Army; Beach City, Ohio; Second Infantry Division.

PITTMAN, Michael P., 34, Pfc., Army; Davenport, Iowa; First Infantry Division.

SOTO, Danny R., 24, Sgt., Army; Houston; Second Infantry Division.
